Alamogordo High School Tigers at the State Tennis Championships Day 1

Tennis - 5A Doubles State Tournament

The Alamogordo Girls began the day with 
Evony Lopez/Eva Westover defeating Jade Duong/Sahara Fox (Cleveland) 6-1, 6-3. They then Advanced to play No. 2 Erin Lee/Annie Lee (Centennial) at 6 PM.

No. 3 Cameron King/Alexis Spindler (La Cueva) defeated Talee Westover/Mackenzie Stitt 6-0, 6-2

Alamogordo Boys
Asa Evans/Josh Jonas (Farmington) defeated  Alamogordo’s Jaxon Spencer Reese Gentry 7-6 (5), 6-3

As the Tennis  5A Doubles State Tournament Continued:

Alamogordo Girls
Evony Lopez/Eva Westover defeated No. 2 Erin Lee/Annie Lee (Centennial) 6-3, 3-6, 6-3

Lopez/Westover then advance to the semifinals  where they play laterNo. 3 Cameron King/Alexis Spindler (La Cueva) on Thursday. 

The State Tennis Championships continued for Alamogordo with Evony Lopez and Eva Westover finishing 4th place in the 5A Girls Doubles State Tournament.

Congratulations to Evony and Eva on a great tournament!!

5A Team Tournament continues on Friday with the No. 7 Alamogordo Girls vs. No. 10 Cleveland at 11 AM and No. 10 Alamogordo Boys vs. No. 7 Piedra Vista at 8 AM.

Match Results for the Semifinals - No. 3 Alexis Spindler/Cameron King (La Cueva) defeated Lopez/Westover 4-6, 6-1, 6-1
3rd Place Match - No. 4 Carmen Valentino/Yasmin Verastegui-Palomino (Santa Fe) defeated Lopez/Westover 6-1, 6-1
