Tennis - 5A Doubles State Tournament
The Alamogordo Girls began the day with
Evony Lopez/Eva Westover defeating Jade Duong/Sahara Fox (Cleveland) 6-1, 6-3. They then Advanced to play No. 2 Erin Lee/Annie Lee (Centennial) at 6 PM.
No. 3 Cameron King/Alexis Spindler (La Cueva) defeated Talee Westover/Mackenzie Stitt 6-0, 6-2
Alamogordo Boys
Asa Evans/Josh Jonas (Farmington) defeated Alamogordo’s Jaxon Spencer Reese Gentry 7-6 (5), 6-3
As the Tennis 5A Doubles State Tournament Continued:

Evony Lopez/Eva Westover defeated No. 2 Erin Lee/Annie Lee (Centennial) 6-3, 3-6, 6-3
Lopez/Westover then advance to the semifinals where they play laterNo. 3 Cameron King/Alexis Spindler (La Cueva) on Thursday.
The State Tennis Championships continued for Alamogordo with Evony Lopez and Eva Westover finishing 4th place in the 5A Girls Doubles State Tournament.

5A Team Tournament continues on Friday with the No. 7 Alamogordo Girls vs. No. 10 Cleveland at 11 AM and No. 10 Alamogordo Boys vs. No. 7 Piedra Vista at 8 AM.

Interesting. Wow. I just looked for this story in the Alamogordo Daily News, thought it would be on the front page. Didn’t see anything. Did this interfere with the big birthday bash? Sure hope not. Looks like it didn’t affect the Burning Bull event. And hopefully the poets at Otero Arts got some of that light.
