Empowering Women in Agriculture: Annie's Project and Maryland Avenue Community Gardens Ribbon Cutting

I produce this report in cooperation with the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service and the New Mexico Agricultural Statistics Bulletin.

Forty percent of New Mexico's farmers and ranchers are female according to the New Mexico Agricultural Statistics Bulletin. Annie's Project is a national nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering women in agriculture. The program boasts 19,000 graduates across 38 States. In New Mexico the program consists of an 8-hour risk management course spread across 6 weeks. The Hands-On series of workshops cover everything from risk awareness, assessment business plans, budgets understanding markets, and succession planning .

Whether you are a beginning or an experienced farmer or Rancher the course will provide valuable insights and networking opportunities in a supportive environment the course is   offered periodically with one schedule to begin on January 20th in Tucumcari, New Mexico.

The cost is $100 with some scholarships available. Child Care is also available upon request.
