Animal Village New Mexico' Sunni Aris provides an update for the week of happenings with Animal Village NM and information about food for animals at local food banks and more. Excerpts from her update include..

"We have some exciting news for those of you who applied to New Mexico Veterinary board for free spay and neuter surgeries for your pet. The letters of approval with instructions are being sent to the addresses you provided. Be sure to be checking your mail for an update and information.

During 2023 we delivered tons of pet food to local food bank to help keep pets in their homes. Animal Village NM subsidized 2011 low income pay neuter surgeries in Otero County alone and we assisted hundreds more to obtain free surgeries from the stat. This means that thousands of unwanted litters will never be born to suffer in Otero and Lincoln County and there will be fewer bite incidents as these neutered pets will be calmer. It also means that families will have the love of their beloved pets for many more decades because they'll be healthier, vaccinated pets.

In November Animal Village NM supplied pet food for the Day of Hope for the homeless event in Alamogordo. Over the holidays Animal Village NM provided tons of pet food to local food banks as well as beds, bowls, leashes, collars and toys to those who applied to our new program Mountain Spirits Angel Paw.

W are so happy that our sponsors have supported us since 2007 allowing us o continue our work for Animals while so many businesses and nonprofits have had to close since it has not been easy.
