Women's March - The Alliance Defending Freedom—the same Christian fundamentalist group behind the Mifepristone challenge—filed another anti-abortion lawsuit in Trump-appointed Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk’s court. They’ve used this playbook before: file in front of a judge who is a right-wing plant, get a favorable ruling, and send it up to the corrupt 5th Circuit. From there, it heads straight to the Supreme Court.
This fight will continue into the next presidential administration. We need a strong advocate in the White House who will defend our freedom to control our own bodies. On November 2nd, thousands of feminists across the nation will mobilize to get out the vote and rally for our freedoms.
While many women are going to Washington D.C. where the main protest will be held, lots of voters are unable to make that trip. Locally, Otero County has scheduled a peaceful demonstration for the Nov. 2 date here at White Sands and 10th St. from 10-12. The link to the demonstration on the Women’s March website is https://action.womensmarch.com/events/otero-county-demonstration
All like minded organizations are invited to join the demonstration. One of our partner organizations is the Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium.
We will never stop fighting for what matters to women and our communities. We will galvanize women across the country and win again in 2024
JOIN Sheri Adkinson AND OTHER OTERO COUNTY CONCERNED CITIZENS AT 10 AM, November 2nd at the CORNER OF 10TH ST. AND WHITE SANDS BL. FOR A 2 HOUR DEMONSTRATION!

PNM should give money back to all those they severely overcharged instead of making customers find a way to make payments for PNM's mistakes.
Sunny, with a high of 94 and low of 74 degrees. Sunny during the morning, patchy rain nearby for the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
One correction is needed in the “New America” story: Ron deSantis is the governor of Florida, Greg Abbott is the Texas governor.
To improve Alamogordo, let's revert to the founding principles - only landowners should vote. Carpetbaggers like this ******* should go back to the plantation in Mississippi.
Wow! You can tell this dude’s mouth was open while he was being born. Just think about it for a moment…
Naw. He's right. We're the ones with skin in the game. Boonies ain't right with the world. They've proven it.
Regarding Let’s Grow Alamo. Shouldn't a professional consultant with expertise in this area tell us what will work? Trolling for the public to be "brutally honest" will produce a report filled with excuses, not good ideas, because if anyone here had one, they'd be doing it already, and they aren't.
Seems like the city continues to have projects that go into cost overruns pretty consistently. Maybe watch out for the cost overruns on the Natatorium and see who profits…
If the City hired a qualified construction company, THEY should have bid on the appropriate materials for the job. In this change order, it seems they either didn’t know that the mammoth fire trucks would require a thick concrete pad, or they lowballed their bid, only to come back with this change order.
Another unqualified XX-firebrand wearing an empty suit that's all hat and no cattle. This blog's mountebank has no shortage of self-appointed experts who love to rabble-rouse. The reality is, she could run, but knows that, due to her narcissism, she couldn't get the voters to act on her short-term clickbait.
I seem to remember reading a quote about those that don’t want to change the system, just that they want to be in charge.
