Mark David Montgomery, 67, of La Luz, NM passed away May 17, 2026, at UMC in El Paso, TX. David was born on September 24, 1958, in Alamogordo, NM to Don and Sue Montgomery.
David was a land surveyor for many years in Alamogordo and surrounding areas. He met and married Mitzi Marie in March 1991 in Alamogordo. As a couple, they enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and visiting family and friends near and far. Another pastime they enjoyed was fishing. David met James Harvey who became a very close friend (brother). They caught many fish and enjoyed being on the lake, as they were both very good fishermen. David was the most loving, caring, and considerate man you would ever meet. He never met a stranger and everyone was a friend.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Lela Brazeal of Alamogordo and Ben and Claudia Montgomery of Alamogordo; parents, Don Montgomery and Sue Ward of Alamogordo; wife, Mitzi Marie of La Luz.
Survivors include brother, Donnie Montgomery and wife Valinda of Tularosa; sisters, Susan Corbett of Carlsbad and Mona Montgomery and boyfriend Dave of Tularosa; brother, Shawn Ward and wife Candy of Alamorosa; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
David will be missed by so many and will be in our hearts forever.
No services are scheduled. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
