Goldie Faye Williamson, born on September 19, 1941 in El Paso Texas, to Robbie Joel Clark and Hallie Edna Hawkins, left this earth to meet Jesus on January 22, 2025.
She grew up in Truth or Consequences, NM, where she met and married the love of her life, Sammy (“Sam”) Williamson, on February 22, 1958. They were married for 59 years before Sam’s passing in March of 2017.
Goldie loved the military life she shared with Sam, a Vietnam veteran. They were blessed to be stationed at Clark AFB, Philippines; Hickam AFB, Hawaii; Edwards AFB, California; Langley AFB, Virginia; Kirkland AFB, New Mexico, and Holloman AFB. Goldie stayed busy with her daughters’ activities, volunteered as a Candy Striper, and most recently volunteered with the Pink Lady Auxiliary at GCRMC. She also worked in the dental office of Dr. Robert White, DDS, for 24 years before she and Sam retired to hit the road in their RV. But Goldie would tell you that her favorite job by far was being a mother to her two daughters, Tanya and Stacy.
Goldie had many friends in Alamogordo and maintained close friendships with people she met throughout their military travels. She was also God-gifted with the ability to host a party. Although she didn’t understand her ease of hosting to be a gift (she thought everyone was able to throw a dinner party together in an afternoon), it was truly a gift, and she used it well. She was known for inviting first-time church visitors home for lunch. And almost every time - they came!
Goldie was an awesome Mimi to her four grandsons. Even though her grandsons are now adults, they still talk about Mimi & Papa Sam Camp held every year at their home. Among the many activities at camp were hiking in the mountains, trips to Caliche’s, Alka-Seltzer rockets, and Five-Star Dinners (with a printed menu, mandatory tie dress code, and Papa Sam’s golf putters as walking canes!)
Many of you may have seen Goldie on her daily walks around the Sun Streets, where she would greet other walkers and joggers with her celebrity smile. For decades, she pounded the pavement at least five days a week, many of those years, with her dedicated walking partners and dear friends.
Goldie is survived by her daughters, Tanya Adams and husband Duane, of Alamogordo NM, and Stacy Beasley and husband Robert, of Sugar Land, TX; grandsons, Collin Adams and wife Desirea of Albuquerque, NM; Nolan Adams and wife, Jade, of Alamogordo NM; Jackson Beasley and wife, Allison, of Dallas, TX; and Colton Beasley, of Dallas, TX; four great-grandchildren: Matthew, Isaiah, Adalayah and Samuel. Goldie is also survived by her sisters, Verlan Schwehn and husband, Jeff, and Lori McGroarty and husband James; brother R.C. Clark and partner Tanya; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Williamson and her first grandson, Bryon Adams.
A memorial service and celebration of Goldie’s life will take place on Saturday, February 8th at 2 p.m. at Desert Hills Church of Christ, 1900 23rd St., in Alamogordo, NM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home, 1356 New Mexico 236, Portales, NM, 88130 in Goldie’s memory.
The Williamson family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel to direct the funeral services.
