In Memory of Jerry Wayne Beaty

Jerry Wayne Beaty, 68, passed away on October 18, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born August 27, 1956 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Thomas and Billie (Hare) Beaty.

He grew up in an Air Force family and traveled the world with his parents and four siblings. Their final assignment was in Chandler, Arizona where he met the love of his life, Tina. They married in 1975 and Jerry left for bootcamp, then moved on to Colorado for additional training. Jerry came home and announced to his wife that they were moving to Alamogordo, New Mexico and his wife said “Alamo-where?” Jerry and Tina welcomed their first son Christopher while stationed at Holloman Air Force Base. Their second son Toby was born while they were stationed at Luke AFB.

The family packed up and moved to their dream destination, RAF Welford near Berkshire, England. After four years, they returned to Holloman AFB. In 1991 Jerry was deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm. He separated from the Air Force in 1992 after 18 dedicated years of service and has called Alamogordo home since 1984.

After his military service, he worked as a 5th grade teacher at Community Christian School for 5 years; then as a transportation specialist for a local company. Since 2002, he took on the cherished role of caregiver to his grandson, Christian, a job he always considered his favorite. Jerry enjoyed watching the Cowboy Channel, Country music, his hero John Wayne, (BTW, cowboy hats, jeans, and boots are perfect attire for this service!) and living in Alamogordo. He was a simple man and loved the Lord and his family.

Survivors include wife, Christina (Thomas) Beaty; sons, Chris and Toby; grandsons, Christian, Micah, and Hadley; siblings, Terry (Dee) Beaty, Larry (Fred Girgenti) Beaty, Sherry (Allen) Roberson, and half-brother Brian (Malissa) Beaty; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Billie Beaty; brother, Gary and grandson, Draven.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, November 16, at Scenic Chapel in Alamogordo with Pastor John Cantu officiating.

The Beaty family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Scenic Chapel. To sign the online register book, please visit AlamogordoObituaries.com.
