Amber Skies Commentary and Rebuttal by Gary Perry

Note: this commentary is a response by another concerned individual concerning the Amber Skies community and is the opinion of the author and is no reflection on the staff of 2nd Life Media nor its affiliations.  This is a response to a commentary published titled: Commentary on Blue Skies by Gale DeRollo

Ms. DeRollo commented that it's difficult to get a plumber on a holiday or weekend. Several Alamogordo area plumbing contractors advertise 24/7 emergency service. One of them is the plumbing contractor that Amber Skies uses!

Regarding the water break of August 9, 2024. Park management sent out an email Friday afternoon August 9th that the City had turned off the water and that the water would be off until Monday August 12th. Ms. DeRollo states she spoke to Mr. Dunn who assured her a plumber would be dispatched. Apparently she may have missed the email you published in your article regarding the same matter in which Mr. Ben Lovell, New Mexico Assistant Attorney General confirmed that "he" called Mr. Dunn Friday afternoon, August 9th regarding getting a plumber dispatched.

Does Ms. DeRollo really think the New Mexico Attorney General's office would suddenly pick up the phone and call Mr. Dunn on a Friday afternoon without prior reason to do so? 

  Mr. Lovell's phone call to Mr. Dunn was because the AG's office was already emersed in an investigation of Mr. Dunn and Amber Skies issues including, but not just limited to water break problems. Ms. DeRollo probably isn't aware that the AG's office sent an investigator to Amber Skies who conducted interviews and has collected documents from several residents pertaining to issues other than just water breaks. 

Mr. Lovell's office is continuing their investigation to include working on getting Mr. Dunn to sign some form of an agreement. I have the email from Mr. Lovell confirming the continuance of the AG's investigation.

In defense of Ms. DeRollo, since she is most likely uniformed about the on-going investigation, it is understandable that she might make some uniformed or misinformed general comments.
