In Memory of Timothy "Tim" Michael Scott

Timothy "Tim" Michael Scott, aged 63, passed away at his home in La Luz, NM on Sunday, April 21, 2024. His passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving his family profoundly saddened. He was born on May 28, 1960, to Harold Clinton Scott and Roberta Ann (Field) Scott, in Las Cruces, NM. Tim graduated from Alamogordo Senior High in May 1979 and subsequently worked alongside his father at Scott Air for many years. Later, he became a valued member of Alamogordo’s Walmart, where he dedicated numerous years of service. Tim took immense pride in his daughter, Symphony Andrea Scott, residing in Santa Fe, NM, and his stepson, Pierce Lee Scott, who lives in Alamogordo. He was married to Dawna Scott for many years.

Tim was a man of many passions, particularly centered around fixing and building cars and bicycles. A devoted collector, Tim amassed an impressive collection of Hot Wheels and automobile memorabilia/signs over the years.

One of Tim's greatest gifts was his unwavering commitment to mentoring through the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization in Alamogordo, Thrive of Southern NM, Toys for Tots, Mustang Club, and donated blood and platelets often. He served as a volunteer firefighter for the La Luz Fire Department and made his adult home in La Luz, NM. He held a deep affection for his community and demonstrated leadership as a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Alamogordo, NM. He was known for his generous spirit, always welcoming others with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile.

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Harold Clinton Scott (Oct. 2021), and his grandparents on both the paternal and maternal sides. He is survived by his mother, Roberta Ann Scott of Los Lunas, NM; his sisters, Andrea Alanis Scott of Albuquerque, NM and Ann-Marie Scott and Kathy Elston of Denver, CO; his stepmother, Kate Goff of Lafayette, CO; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His departure has left a great shock and deep wound, keenly felt by his entire family and the countless others who loved him deeply within his wide network community. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and kindly asks that contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made to any volunteer organization in Alamogordo, as this was a significant part of Tim's life.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Grace United Methodist Church in Alamogordo, NM.

The Scott family has entrusted their loved one to the care of PCS Direct Cremation Service.
