To the Voters of Alamogordo,
As a lifelong resident of Alamogordo, a former NCAA award-winning track and field coach, certified personal trainer, and local artist deeply committed to our community’s cultural and athletic heritage, I am proud to endorse Sharon McDonald for Mayor of Alamogordo.
I have known Sharon through her dedicated service as City Commissioner for District 5 and as our current Mayor Pro-Tem. Her passion for education, community development, and fostering a vibrant, focus on fitness such as developing new parks, the new indoor pool of which underground utility work has already begun, and her passion for transparency and an inclusive city resonates deeply with me.
As someone who has spent years coaching young collegiate athletes and creating art that celebrates our local history and natural beauty—such as my “Valley of the Fires” sculpture series—I’ve seen firsthand how Sharon’s leadership has supported initiatives that uplift our neighborhoods block by block, promote multiculturalism, and attract new residents and businesses.
Sharon’s background as a lifelong community advocate and her commitment to revitalizing Alamogordo block by block from the Dudley School Community Center, to new sidewalks in the inner city neighborhoods, make her the ideal leader to guide us forward.
She understands the importance of teamwork, respect, and hard work—values I’ve instilled in countless athletes, and now express through my artwork at Studio Q.
My father, Coach Bob Sepulveda taught and coached for over 4 decades at Alamogordo High School, he taught many of you. As such he believes in this community and the values you were taught. Those values tell us that it is now time for calm, ethical and transparent leadership in the role of mayor. That ethical leader is Sharon McDonald. People over party leadership to serve the citizens over insider deal making.
Under her guidance as the mayor, I believe Alamogordo will thrive as a place where education, arts, fitness, and community spirit flourish. I believe her kind heart and soft passionate spirit is exactly the leader this city needs now, today and over the next few years.
Calm, Collaborative and driven by a faithful spirit of transformation towards transparency and an ethics driven approach to leadership and governance; that is Sharon McDonald.
I urge my fellow Alamogordans to join me and the Sepulveda family in our wholehearted endorsement and support in voting for Sharon McDonald, today thru Saturday in early voting and on November 4, 2025.
Let’s show up at the polls and show we as citizens care about ethical leadership and elect a mayor who truly represents the heart and soul of our city.
Sincerely,
Rene Sepulveda
