PNM is investigating the reason and sending crews into Alamogordo to repair damaged power lines resulting in over 2000 customers without power.
A large and sudden heavy wind rushed through the city with heavy sands around 7pm Thursday evening soon after multiple businesses and residents complained of power outages. PNM confirmed that at last 2000 locations are impacted with power anticipated to be restored by 10:15 pm.

this serves as a reminder that in most political structures there exists a "shadow government"; made up of power brokers, financial interests and proverbial good old boys. they are not predisposed to favor change, or folks outside their sphere of influence - but change can only come from outside their sphere.
