The New Mexico Museum of Space History located in Alamogordo, New Mexico is proud to announce a special event honoring the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This celebration, held in collaboration with the Holloman AFB Tuskegee Airmen Chapter, will take place on the museum’s second floor and is free for the public to attend.

The Tuskegee Airmen were trailblazers in military aviation, breaking racial barriers as the first African American fighter pilots and support crews in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Their exceptional service included escorting bombers in Europe without losing a single aircraft on numerous missions, earning them the nickname "Red Tail Angels." Their bravery and skill contributed to the Allied victory and paved the way for desegregation in the U.S. military.
