The Alamogordo Tigers Boys soccer played their last week of regular season play this week against Las Cruces and Gadsden.
Jaxon Spencer of Tiger Boys Soccer was the 10/18/24 Tiger Athlete of the Week hosted by 1230 AM Alamogordo Sports and sponsored by Tularosa Basin Telephone Company/Tularosa Communications, Inc. and The Winners' Circle.
Via Las Cruces the Tigers delivered a victory. Game highlights began with Lorenzo Duran scoring assisted by Kyle Tamayo. Leo Rick then scored on a free kick against Cruces. Then Ryan Amberson scored, assisted by Leo Rick and Alamogordo led Las Cruces 3-0. Next Leo Rick scored assisted by Kyle Tamayo and Alamogordo led Las Cruces 4-0.
Las Cruces not letting go fought with their Felix Nieto scoring one for Las Cruces. Alamogordo led Las Cruces 4-1 at halftime.
After the half Ryan Amberson scored assisted by Jaxon Byars and Alamogordo les Las Cruces 5-1. Ryan Amberson scored his 3rd assisted by Tayton Curran. Alamogordo the. led Las Cruces 6-1.
The game concluded wirh victory toward Alamogordo in a game with stiffer more competitive play second half. Alamogordo defeated Las Cruces 6-1. Ryan Amberson led the team with 3 goals, Leo Rick scored twice and Lorenzo Duran also scored.
Kyle Tamayo was strong with 2 assists, Leo Rick, Jaxon Byars and Tayton Curran each with one assist.
The Tigers improved their record to 6-12, 2-7 in district.
Thursday night Boys Gadsden defeated Alamogordo 12-3. Leo Rick, Kyle Tamayo and Ryan Amberson each scored for the Tigers, Assists were from Kyle Tamayo and Leo Rick.
The Tigers finished the season at 6-13 and 2-8 in district.

Everything in Alamogordo feels fake to me, as if it is some kind of staging ground or network, not an organic community. Since the Manhattan Project, the military has used the town that way, but then there was a hard separation between the base and the town, and maybe that’s where things went sideways.

The corruption which causes reputational damage is too widespread already and is going to overflow into the public eye soon enough. There is nothing anyone, or any group can do to stop it all from coming out. It is not limited to Chamber of Commerce or MainGate, IMO. Its tentacles are choking this city.
this is not an unusual situation involving chambers of commerce - merging government with business interests is nearly as problematic as merging government with churches. either situation places minority stakeholders in positions to manipulate the public's interests.
