The Alamogordo Tiger football teams are in play this week. On Thursday was an epic showdown with many alumni in the stands to include the legendary retired Coach Bob Sepulveda who coached JV football for many decades, was head varsity coach for a season in 70s, and is the winningest Boys Track and field coach in Alamogordo High School history winning 4 in a row state championships in the 90s.
Tonight our Tiger freshman hit the road to Deming today with a 5 pm kickoff. The Demin game was competitive with Deming pulling out a victory on their home field 16 to 12.
At Home Tiger Stadium and the Bob Sepulveda track and field, parents and students were on hand to cheer on our hometown JV team as they clashed with Carlsbad for a 5 pm kickoff. The game was interrupted and delayed due to lightning and the Tiger boys saw much promise for the season though Carlsbad defeated the Tigers 42 to 20. Several promising players showed skill that with time will develop. One promising young athlete, Tanner Nowaczck who is celebrating his birthday week got a bit of play time and completed his first interception in real tome game play! Congratulations to this young man and the several others that demonstrate professionalism and promise this season.
Friday night the Alamogordo Tigers varsity team hits the home field. Let's fill the stadium with supporters and show the local Tiger spirit!
