Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) El Paso special agents assigned to the Border Enforcement Security Task Force(BEST) Aug. 6 arrested 56 undocumented noncitizens in a stash house in West El Paso.
U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) agents and Department of Public Safety troopers assisted with the case.
The migrants were all adults — 49 from Mexico, five from Guatemala and two from El Salvador. There were 15 women in the group, and all the migrants were turned over to Border Patrol for processing. HSI special agents made the discovery after executing a search warrant in a house in the 1500 block of Murchison Drive. The investigation is ongoing.
“Human smugglers prey on the desperation of foreign nationals with hopes of coming to the United States to chase the American dream,” said HSI El Paso acting Special Agent in Charge Jason T. Stevens. “However, what they encounter is the American nightmare in the hands of callous transnational criminal organizations who see them as nothing else than merchandise. HSI is committed to continue working with our law enforcement partners to aggressively seek those who undermine our nation’s immigration laws and victimize people for profit.”
“In FY24, Border Patrol agents, in conjunction with our law enforcement partners, have rescued approximately 2,300 migrants from stash houses,” said USBP El Paso Sector Chief Anthony Scott Good. “These stash houses commonly are unsanitary, overcrowded, unsafe, and sometimes with little to no running water.”
The primary mission of HSI’s BESTs is to combat emerging and existing transnational criminal organizations by employing the full range of federal, state, local, tribal and international law enforcement authorities and resources in the fight to identify, investigate, disrupt and dismantle these organizations at every level of operation. The BEST investigative model is a comprehensive response to the growing threat to border security, public safety and national security. BESTs eliminate the barriers between federal and local investigations (access to both federal and state prosecutors) and close the gap with international partners in multinational criminal investigations.
Members of the public who have information about smuggling activity are urged to call the HSI Tip Line at 877-4-HSI-TIP.

New sidewalks for some neighborhoods. What about the Walker area that is also in her district. Seeing is believing, Walker area has always been ignored.

Have you ever messaged her about it, or are you just complaining to complain? Her actions speak louder than all the other commissioners combined.

She championed and approved $12 million dollars worth of Water system upgrades for walker road and yet you choose to ignore that. It is in the design phase with contract bidding to be announed in early 2026 with work to begin in later spring. That is the largest capital investment in Walker Road in over 50 years.

Sunny, with a high of 74 and low of 46 degrees. Sunny for the morning, clear during the afternoon and evening,

Did anyone see what Senator Charles Grassley is saying about AI yesterday. What does that have to do with this? It might explain why legal systems in many cities are such a mess.

But also: Why is no one talking about the DISMAL low income housing in Alamogordo, and the need to investigate what is going on in those places, and the lack of housing for homeless???????????

      three responses:
"I cannot accept your canon that we are to judge Pope and King unlike other men, with a favorable presumption that they do no wrong. If there is any presumption, it is the other way against holders of power...power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." ~ Lord Acton

It is interesting as you delve into the family, business and indeed religious connections that are intertwined in city politics. Some folks have a whole lit of fleas scratching the dog.

Absolutely true lots of fleas itching the dog!!

I somehow got logged out without doing so since last time I was here. I wanted to view the Flickinger meeting on Facebook but cannot because my account was taken down. I do not attend these public events because of all the attempts to mess with my life already.

      two observations:

Absolutely. I would say those are conservative numbers at 1 in 40. The quickest way to become wealthy in America is to enter politics. I would say Miss McDonald is 1 in a 109. The family fun center fiasco is a true memorial to what nepotism and back room dealing will get you.

      PBS was relevant.

NPR and PBS were definitely relevant - which is precisely why the trump regime has scuttled them...we have truly entered the era of alternative "truth".
