Recap of Village of Tularosa Trustee Meeting

The Tularosa Village Council Meeting began this week with the pledge to the flag and then a traditional call to order and a roll call of new Council by the Village Clerk.

Patrick Garcia, Deborah Cooksey, Mark Garwood were present.  Robert Sainz was absent. 

Per item number three the mayor appointed the following positions Village Clerk and Village Attorney.  The present clerk Rebecca Brian was reappointed. The present Village attorney was reappointed as well.

The agenda then hosted a few public comments and then went to a discussion about how to create and partner with New Mexico MainStreet? 

On item number five the mayor is asked to approve the appointment of Warren Candelaria as chief of police of the pay rate of $30 an hour. The mayor explained the new chief comes with over 20 years of experience and experience as a retired federal law enforcement officer. He has training and he has been a training officer .He has held Lieutenant positions. Approved.

Item number six the mayor is asked to change public comments from only agenda items to be discussed to have it opened for any topic from the public. 

Item number seven the mayor's asked to reinstate the planning zoning department. The motion past,

Item number eight Rebecca Bryant, Village clerk is asked to approve resolution number 10:2320232 24-9, the open meeting act . Motion Passed.

 Item nine has been removed from the agenda .

Item number 10 OE Solar asked to approve a special use development and presented their project plans to the commission.

A motion  was made to postpone a decision until the attorney could review and they woyld revisit in 2 weeks

Number 11  on the agenda  individuals is asking for a building permit to be pulled until they install a grease trap and have them run their own sewer. There was discussion on code and how to comply and keep the business operating.

With no other business the meeting ended.
