Bob Sepulveda Invitational Results Battle Breaks Record of Lisa Valle from 1984

The Bob Sepulveda Invitational is a State-Qualifying meet and was held Friday at the Bob Sepulveda Track and Field at the Alamogordo High School Tiger Stadium. Coach Bob Sepulveda age 86 was in attendance yesterday and hold the record as the winningest Boys Track and Field Coach in Alamogordo High Schools 110 year history bring home 5 state championships, 4 in a row during the 90s. 

Coach Justin Atkinson who presides over the program today, was a student athlete to Coach Sepulveda, and is leading the Alamogordo Girls program to setting a similar record.

Congratulations to Senior Ellary Battle for breaking Alamogordo High Schools girls 800m record, the previous record holder was Lisa Valle who has held the record since 1984. Ms Battle broke a record that stood for 39 years. 

The tournament held Friday; again the Tiger Girls continued their winning streak with another first place team finish. The Boys Place second with first place going to Organ Mountain High School which beat Alamogordo by just 3.5 points.

The Tigers next compete at the Las Cruces meet next Friday and the Wildcats next at district meet at Capitan next Saturday.
