I know another documentary on Trinity and the atomic bomb. Who out there has not already seen a documentary or two or three on this event in our history. Don’t forget the great 1954 movie “THEM” (giant killer ants). Or “Giant Killer Bats of Alamogordo”? So why see this documentary from Larry Sheffield?

Here’s why…. If you remember every documentary, you have probably seen makes a big deal about the atomic bomb and it being in Alamogordo. So, you watch the documentary, they mention Alamogordo…. then what happens? You don’t hear a thing about Alamogordo again, just it happened here. Larry’s documentary tells the stories that were never told. Tells you how Alamogordo and the region participated in this event. How and why was the location selected? What was happening and how was it kept so secret? These days when something is top secret it ends up on the front page of the New York Times. How about the women that participated? Ever documentary shows men running around during this time, but over 300 WAC’s (Women’s Army Corps) were involved. And more…….

So, you see you don’t know the full story…. Curious? Join us Friday evening (April 21) at 6:00 PM at the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts at 1110 New York Avenue.

The Tularosa Basin Museum of History hosts the Trinity Site historic installation in the museum.
