In Memory of Otis R. Saenz

Otis R. Saenz, 88, of Ruidoso, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on June 9,2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Otis was born on January 20, 1938, inFredericksburg, Texas. Throughout his life, he was known for his hardworking spirit, devotion to
his family, and his deep love for horses. He spent many years working as a jockey, horse trainer, groomer, and horse owner at the racetrack, where he formed lasting friendships and
earned the respect of those who knew him. Horse racing and riding were not just hobbies to Otis-they were lifelong passions that brought him immense joy and purpose.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura Saenz; his sons, Otis Jr, Dale, Darren and Corey; and his daughters, Susan, Pauline, and Andrea. Otis was a proud grandfather to Monica, Michelle,
Alexis, Johnny, Anthony, Skydra, Tierra, Nayvoni, Faith, Otis, Arianna, Kiara, Carmine, Domingo, Aiden, Noah, Lilyanna, and Immanuel.

He was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren all of whom brought great happiness to his life.

He is also survived by his sisters, Connie and Lupe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Janie and Pete Saenz; his sisters, Tina, Felipa, Julia, and Janie; and his brothers, Jesse and Amalio, and granddaughter, Lakeshia.

Otis will be remembered for his kindness, strength, unwavering work ethic, and the love he had for his family. Whether at the racetrack, caring for horses, or spending time with those he loved, he lived his life with dedication and heart. His legacy will continue through the many lives he
touched and the family he cherished. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him forever.

Funeral services are currently being planned. Service details will be announced by the family
