Duane Cecil Vinson, 82, passed away on June 26, 2026, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on September 28, 1943, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Cecil Eldon and Addie Mae (Davis) Vinson.
Duane joined the Air Force in 1961 serving for 22 years. He married Rosanne Mixon in San Antonio on June 5, 1963. After his retirement from the USAF, Duane worked in Law Enforcement for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Rosanne Vinson; his sons, Duane Cecil Vinson II and Jason Dean Vinson (Deidre); daughters, Linda Marie Cooley (Chad) and Jennifer Lee Ventura (Chris); sister, Grace Ann Wagner (Mike); ten grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He leaves behind many friends he has made throughout the years from the military and law enforcement; both civilian and civil from WSMR; as well as friends made at the Alamogordo Senior Center, his favorite place to eat lunch.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Addie; brother, Richard Eldon; sister, Judy.
Cremation will be entrusted to Alamogordo Funeral Home. His ashes will be sent to his sister in Poplar Bluff to be scattered in the Black River on his birthday.
