Jacob Daniel Hanway “Jakie Pooh”, “my sonshine”, 25, passed away in Roswell, NM on May 1, 2024. He was born in Alamogordo, NM on October 5, 1998. He graduated from Alamogordo High School in 2017. Jacob had a deep passion for music and expressed himself through that music having crafted many songs. Although he may not have known it, he was very artistic, creating his own photographic images and drawings. Jakie was a gentle giant who loved people with his whole heart. He loved his family and would make a point to hug and tell them he loved them as often as possible.
Jakie formed many special relationships with almost every person he encountered. He wanted nothing more than to be loved and accepted for who he was. He was always joking and coming up with funny sayings and giving people nick names. Asking people random things to see their reactions was one of the things he is most known for. Jackie loved animals and to him they were just as important and loved by him as humans. He wanted to make everyone proud and become something big, if given more time, who knows what he could have been. He always said he wanted to make it big and take care of his “mama”. His mama couldn’t be prouder of his musical talent and his beautiful heart. Those of us who knew Jakie best see him singing, joking, and playing with his animals and the angels, putting on his own concert for the Lord, oh how happy he must be.
