Elsie Gideon, 88, passed away on April 24, 2024, in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Elsie moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1962 and where she spent most of her life. Some may know her from the owner of The Knife Shop, on New York Ave. in Alamogordo. In retirement years, Elsie and her husband Bill retired to Timberon, NM. They enjoyed living in the mountains but often came down to dance and enjoy what Alamogordo and Ruidoso had offer. They both enjoyed music, dancing and gardening in retirement. Many a weekend, you would find the "Rim Riders" band with Marvin singing and Bill playing his steel guitar. Elsie loved dancing to the music and line dancing with the ladies.
Elsie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Yolanda and Mike Thompson of Longmont, Colorado; her grandson, Tyler Thompson; and her brother and sister-in-law of La Luz, NM, Marvin and Tammy Baker.
The Gideon family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
