Alexander Wilson Arrested on Sexual Exploitation of Children Charges

ALAMOGORDO, NM — The Criminal Investigations Division has arrested Alexander Wilson, 26, a resident of Alamogordo, following an extensive investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

The investigation began on April 15, 2026, when the Criminal Investigations Division received a cyber tip from the New Mexico Department of Justice. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) had detected that an Alamogordo resident was uploading suspected CSAM to a cloud service.

Swift Identification and Search

Investigators quickly identified the suspect as Wilson. Following the identification, law enforcement obtained a search warrant for Wilson’s residence. During the execution of the warrant, authorities seized a cell phone and multiple computers belonging to the suspect.

Forensic examinations conducted by the Criminal Investigations Division’s Digital Forensics team revealed hundreds of images and videos consistent with CSAM on the seized devices.

Charges Filed

After several months of comprehensive digital evidence examination, investigators applied for an arrest warrant through Otero County Magistrate Court. On August 13, 2026, Wilson was taken into custody and transported to the Otero County Detention Center.

Wilson has been charged with:

• One Count of Sexual Exploitation of Children (Possession, Under 13)

Multi-Agency Task Force

This case was handled as part of the New Mexico Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which works to locate, track, and apprehend internet child predators and child pornographers throughout New Mexico. The task force comprises over 90 federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies and receives funding through an Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) grant administered by the New Mexico Department of Justice.
