Join for Fiesta of Hope 2026—A Night of Color, Music, and Purpose

Alamogordo nonprofit marks third year of signature fundraiser, expanding critical services for abuse survivors

When a child in Otero or Lincoln County experiences abuse, neglect, or witnesses violence, there’s one place designed specifically to help them—and one place only. Kid’s Inc. Child Advocacy Center, headquartered on Cuba Avenue in Alamogordo, is the sole child advocacy center serving both counties and one of just 11 across all of New Mexico.

This August 22, the organization is hosting its third annual Fiesta of Hope gala, a celebration that underscores both the vibrancy of the community and the serious work happening behind the scenes. The event at The Tea Shed represents far more than an evening of catered dinner and dancing—every dollar raised directly funds comprehensive services that would otherwise leave some of the region’s most vulnerable children without support.

A Multidisciplinary Response to a Difficult Reality

Kid’s Inc. operates through what professionals call a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) approach, coordinating law enforcement, child protective services, medical professionals, mental health providers, and victim advocates to respond to cases of child abuse in a unified, trauma-informed way.

The center’s services include forensic interviewing—structured conversations with children conducted in a specially designed, child-friendly environment by trained professionals—along with family advocacy, crisis counseling, and connections to medical and mental health care. The organization also provides community education and works on legislative advocacy to strengthen child protection laws across the state.

In recent years, Kid’s Inc. has even welcomed Sunny, a courthouse facility dog trained to provide emotional support to children during forensic interviews and throughout the legal process. Sunny’s presence alone has proven to reduce anxiety and help traumatized children open up about their experiences.

“Every ticket, every bid, every dollar goes straight to supporting children and families who are healing from abuse, neglect, and violence,” the organization emphasized in its fundraising materials. For a region where child advocacy resources are stretched thin, that direct impact matters enormously.

Building Community Support

The Fiesta of Hope has grown into a signature Alamogordo event precisely because it tackles a sobering issue while maintaining the spirit of celebration and hope. This year’s theme—“Community. Compassion. Collaboration. Champions”—reflects the organization’s belief that child protection requires the entire community’s involvement.

Attendees can expect a full evening: a catered dinner, full cash bar with signature cocktails, live DJ and dance floor, and a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items and experiences. Guests are encouraged to wear fiesta attire or their favorite eveningwear.

Tickets are $65 per person or $100 for two. Those interested in making a larger impact can become event sponsors. All proceeds benefit Kid’s Inc.’s direct services to children and non-offending caregivers navigating the aftermath of trauma.
