ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — VFW Post 7686 will host a car show this fall honoring the victims and first responders of the September 11 attacks, organizers announced. The event, themed “Remember, Honor, Never Forget,” is set for Saturday, September 5, 2026.
The show is open to all makes and models, inviting everyone from classic muscle car owners to truck enthusiasts to bring out their vehicles. Attendees can expect trophies, a 50/50 raffle, live music, food, and vendors throughout the day.
“Veterans Helping Veterans, Our Community, Our Mission” remains the guiding motto for Post 7686, and organizers say all proceeds from the car show will go toward supporting local veterans and community programs.
The event is presented in partnership with Alamo Ford of Alamogordo and Desert Suds Car Wash & Detail, both of which are sponsoring the show alongside the VFW post.
The September 5 date falls just days ahead of the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, giving the show added significance as a tribute to those lost and a reminder of the post’s broader mission of honoring veterans and first responders.
Further details on show hours, registration, and location are expected to be released by VFW Post 7686 closer to the event date.
