Alamogordo, NM – The Alamogordo Police Department responded to various incidents over the week of May 11 to May 17, 2026, resulting in numerous arrests primarily for outstanding warrants, domestic-related offenses, trespassing, and other violations.
Key Incidents and Arrests:
• Warrant Arrests: Several individuals were taken into custody on municipal and magistrate court warrants for failure to appear or failure to pay fines. These arrests occurred during routine contacts, traffic stops, and court appearances.
• Domestic Disturbances: Multiple responses to domestic calls led to arrests for battery against a household member, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and related charges. Officers also handled assaults and disorderly conduct incidents.
• Property Crimes:
• Two larceny cases involving stolen license plates from vehicles.
• One report of an embezzled (stolen) white 2015 Ford Fusion.
• A bicycle theft at a local convenience store, with a suspect developed.
• Other Notable Incidents:
• An unattended death investigation in the 300 block of Hendrix, where life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.
• Shoplifting at a convenience store, leading to an arrest.
• Several trespassing complaints resulting in citations or arrests.
• DWI arrests during traffic stops.
• Indecent exposure reports leading to arrests.
• A vehicle pursuit involving a motorcycle that fled from officers.
• Juvenile arrests related to a breaking and entering incident involving armed robbery and firearm charges.
Officers issued citations for issues such as animal at large, disorderly conduct, and rabies exposure. Some juveniles were referred to juvenile probation services.
The department continues investigations into property crimes where suspects have been identified in some cases.
