The boys’ squad highlighted the day with a strong performance in the 200-yard freestyle relay, where the team of Braylon Malone, Chase Rose, Landon Artiaga, and Caleb Crabtree clocked a time of 1:41.53 to place 10th and secure a state qualifying mark. The same quartet also delivered in the 400 free relay (7th, 4:02.22) and contributed to a 13th-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:59.87).
On the individual side for the boys, Braylon Malone took 14th in the 100 backstroke (1:09.22), while Caleb Crabtree placed 18th in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.02). Adrian Viktorik finished 54th in the 100 free (1:10.56), and Caden Walker was 83rd in the 50 free (31.64).
For the girls, the 200 free relay team of Rachel Carmody, Maeve Wierzbanowski, Phoebe Wierzbanowski, and Teagan Green placed 17th (2:03.43), and the 200 medley relay squad — Rachel Carmody, Teagan Green, Audrey Alaniz, and Phoebe Wierzbanowski — took 18th (2:25.62).
Rachel Carmody led the individual efforts, finishing 12th in the 50 free (26.97) and 16th in the 100 free (1:01.98). Parker Wade placed 39th in the 100 back (1:30.22), and Audrey Alaniz was 41st in the 100 breast (1:38.95).
The invitational provided valuable experience against strong competition as the Tigers continue building toward the postseason. Both teams will next compete at Artesia on January 24.
