The Tigers were the underdogs going into the game.  Roswell High School was the 2024 Class 5A State Football Champions! The Coyotes' victory over Artesia at the Wool Bowl Saturday meant RHS won three of the last six 5A football state titles.

However, the Tigers proved they are contenders in 2025. The pathway to victory for the Tigers -27 over the Coyotes-13 was a bumpy road with multiple distractions, which makes the victory by the Tigers all the sweeter.

Several of the fans who were awaiting to enter the stadium witnessed chaos in the parking, with a screaming fight breaking out, and leading to the arrest of 3 girls and an increased police presence. Multiple police units were called to the Alamogordo High Stadium amid the unrest.

"It a highschool football game. Take that stuff away from the school. Idiots"

The game was delayed multiple times due to concerns about lightning. Fans were allowed in the stadium around 7:15 but were delayed once in the stadium another 30 minutes due to lightning again. The national anthem was played at 8:02 and the game began.

"The Alamogordo Tigers, sporting a new turf at Tiger stadium, did not disappoint the fans who endured 3 rain delays when putting their 1-0 record on the line against the coyotes of Roswell, who came into the game ranked #7 in the state. When all was said and done the Tigers ran the coyotes out of "A" town 27-13. I've coached at Alamo since 1999, and this team plays with as much confidence and discipline as the 2006 team. Led by seniors #1 Nat Best, #77 Diego Ortega, #52 Dominic Padilla, #24 Qamari Patterson and juniors #3 Bryson Bloom and #14 Nathanael Cereceres", said Coach AJ Cisco
