The City of Alamogordo reminds the public that elections are upcoming and is seeking candidates for Mayor, City Commission and the judiciary.
Per the city, if you’ve ever thought about stepping up to help shape the future of our city, now is your chance! The day for filing for elected office is Tuesday, August 26, 2025, and is the only day to submit your paperwork. Alamogordo’s municipal elections are nonpartisan, focusing on ideas and leadership rather than party politics.
Persons shall be elected to fill the following elective offices:
• Mayor At-Large for a four-year term
• District (2) Commissioner for a four-year term
• District (4) Commissioner for a four-year term
• Municipal Judge At-Large for a four-year term
• District (1) Commissioner for a two-year term

Serving on the City Commission is more than just attending meetings. Serving is about advocating for your constituents while making decisions that guide Alamogordo’s future. Commissioners’ responsibilities include:
• Setting policy that impacts every corner of our community.
• Shaping the city’s future through strategic decisions and long-term planning.
• Controlling the city budget to ensure our resources are used wisely.
• Overseeing the City Manager, who carries out the commission’s policies and manages daily operations.

There’s a thing called reactive abuse. It can be used to bring frivolous, costly lawsuits (aka lawfare). Please educate yourself so you do not fall for harassment baiting. There are some very interesting videos on Youtube about it.
