Chaparral High School in Chaparral New Mexico is in the Gadsden Independent School District. The local community is shocked and saddened by the news that a high school security officer passed away Monday after experiencing a medical emergency on campus.
According to the Gadsden Independent School District, a Chaparral High School security officer passed away after experiencing a medical emergency while at school.
In a statement, the Gadsden Independent School System said it is "heartbroken" after the loss, saying, "The security officer was a beloved member of our team who played an essential role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff. His commitment to keeping our campus safe was deeply appreciated by all who knew him."
The district also said it will have counselors and mental health specialists available in the coming days to help students and staff through the grieving process.
"Our hearts and condolences go out to his family during this incredibly difficult time,” said GISD Superintendent Travis Dempsey. “He will be missed not only as a security officer but as a friend and a valued part of our Chaparral family."

christian nationalism is a very powerful force in the current republican party structure, and lip service to purity is a practical requirement for political success in that environment. hypocrisy is an ever-present part of human behavior, and pretending otherwise is part of what has gotten us where we are today.
