Pastor Walker hails to us as a former principal, with a passion for academics. A former Athletic Director for the Alamogordo Public Schools, so he knows how to knock past negativity, and lead with a message of hope and compassion. 

Pastor Walker demonstrates that daily, as the passionate leader of Alamogordo’s New Covenant Worship Center.

What follows is his first submission of a new, weekly column of hope and positivity. 

“That’s a Terrible Idea” Dream Slayers by Pastor Johnnie Walker

“No matter where you go l, no matter where you are you will always be able to find a dream killer. They pose as experts and are disguised as friends looking out for your best interest. The world is not in need of vision hawking dream slayers the world is in need of dreamers.

The worlds is in need of people to look past their fears of failure, their insecurities, and their past results and dream again. We need to hope again, and believe again.

Only those who dare to dream of will dare to succeed. So open that crumbled up piece of paper from the nightstand, grab a notebook and let’s change the world.

Go for it. Change your life, change your community, Change the world. Follow your dream. Invent something, write something, build something; it’s not a terrible idea. 

Don’t allow your dream to die with you, allow it to live through you. Let it be an inheritance to the generations that follow you. We need you to dream again.

Dream killers watch from the sidelines and critique your every move.

Trust your gut, go for it, make your move, be persistent and slay those giants. Dream again, it’s not a terrible idea. Silence your critics and take back control of your life”.
