Guest Commentary: which candidate has best demonstrated honesty and trustworthiness, the values you want representing your interests? by Marty McFarland
John Block’s most recent campaign letter asserts that “…a public servant should be someone neighbors can trust,” after which he goes on to push, once again, the narrative of his opponent’s criminal history.
Grace Nagamine has not denied her past. She has spoken freely and honestly about her history and how that has shaped her views and made her into the advocate she is for the disenfranchised.
Contrast that to the numerous posts by Block that have recently come to light, in which he mocks local protesters who are actually the constituents he purports to represent. Or the recent posts in which he makes racist and disparaging comments about Deb Haaland and Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Posts he has since taken down. Of course, nothing really disappears from the internet.
Getting back to the question Block raises in his recent campaign plea for money and votes: which candidate has best demonstrated honesty and trustworthiness, the values you want representing your interests?
