Vote Early Rally Oct 17, 2026 No Kings Committee

The Republican Party, at the insistence of President Trump, is working hard to make it as difficult as possible for the average American to vote in the upcoming mid-term election. The Save Act, gerrymandering activities in many red states, large cities reducing the number of polling places in low-income areas, and the continuous lawsuits and appeals by the Administration to stop mail-in voting. There is a lot of reason to be concerned about the safety of your vote this mid-term election.

No Kings, Indivisible and 50501, along with others, are part of a nationwide coalition of pro-democracy organizations that have announced a nationwide No Kings Day Early Voting event for October 17, 2026. Local organizers at Democracy Otero County are supporting this effort for Otero County.

A Vote Early rally on October 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the intersection of White Sands Blvd. and 10th Street has been scheduled. You can sign up for this event at https://www.nokings.org.

Organizers ask that you register so that they can document attendance and to help them with planning, but registration is not required to attend the event.

Local organizers describe this as a celebration of the power of the people to dictate the destiny of our nation and our lives. When the rally winds down at 11:00 the plan is that everyone move, en masse, to the Otero County Fairgrounds to cast their votes, showing that the citizens of Otero County want a change from the trajectory we have been suffering through for the last two years.

Local activists, those folks you’ve seen rallying at the corner of White Sands Blvd. and Tenth Street for the last two years, will be out on that day, between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. They ask that you join them in sending this message to the Trump Administration: our voices will be heard; our votes will be counted. Group organizers say they have extra signs but encourage you to make your voice heard by creating your own message. Please wear sunscreen and bring enough water for yourself.

Local organizers emphasize their commitment to non-violent action and expect all participants to avoid and de-escalate any confrontation.
