Gladys Anita Lee, widowed, passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 94.
Anita was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, Roy Harper of Muleshoe, TX and J.D. Lee of Duran, NM; her parents, William (Bill) and Gladys Keelin of Corona, NM; her daughter, Teresa Novakovich of Colorado; brothers, Tom, Paul, David, and Alvie Keelin. She leaves behind one living sister, Peggy Owen of Alamogordo; one granddaughter, Tanya; many nieces and nephews along with their families; many friends.
Anita was born in Wheeler, TX and at the age of 3, her parents and 5 siblings moved to Corona, NM. After high school graduation, Anita married (divorced), Jack Jones. She lived in NM, CO, and TX. Her final year and a half was spent at The Aristocrat in Alamogordo, NM. The Aristocrat treated her with loving care in which her family was very grateful for. In her last days being on hospice, she was treated and cared for with special kindness that will not be forgotten. Anita was known for her care of others, always willing to give and help when needed, involved in her community, dancing and laughing her way through life.
There will be no services held. Anita has requested that her family take her remains, along with those of her daughter's, for interment at the Corona, NM Cemetery. Anita is at peace and pain free, praise the Lord.
