In Memory of Noriko “Sue” Vincent

Noriko “Sue” Vincent, age 93, of Alamogordo, NM, was surrounded by her children when she passed from this life following a brief stay at Christus Hospital on April 29, 2026, at 1:07 am. Noriko was born in Rumoi, Japan on January 10,1933, to mother, Kia (Sato) Matsuda and father, Kurashi Matsuda. She was the middle child with 6 siblings, raised in Sapporo, Japan. As a young girl, Noriko had a love for ceremonial/folk dance, tea ceremony, and playing the Koto.

Noriko married Robert Vincent in 1957 and together they raised 7 children. The family moved to Alamogordo in 1976 as the result of a military transfer but remained here following her husband’s retirement from the USAF. She loved the Alamogordo lifestyle and the desert environment. Sue was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was a very private person. In her later years, her primary passions were her family, PGA golf (Rory McIlroy) and QVC.

Sue's husband preceded her in death in 2000. Also preceding her in death were daughter, Janet Vincent; son, Dean Vincent; grandson, Aaron Greenwood (Johanna). She is survived by four children, Shirley McGinty (Kelly McGinty) of Brazil, IN., Johanna Simmons of San Antonio, TX, Anthony Vincent of OR, Angela Johnson (Darryl Johnson) of Englewood, OH., Robert Vincent Jr. of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Christy Leohr, Raymond Geise (Shirley), Brandon Johnson (Angela), Jeremy Dixon (Johanna); great grandchildren, Keira Leohr, Miley Geise, Chloe and Leo Johnson.

Noriko “Sue” requested cremation of her remains and no public ceremony. A private ceremony will be held later by her children to honor both parents and for disbursement of their combined ashes at a predetermined location.

The family expresses their gratitude to close friends and neighbors who befriended/assisted their mother following the passing of her spouse. In addition, they thank the staff at Christus Health (Medical Unit) and Medical Center who provided excellent care with concern and compassion.

The Vincent family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
