Adelina (Nina) Brusuelas, 90, of Tularosa, NM passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, in Roswell, NM surrounded by loved ones.
Nina’s journey began on May 27, 1935, as she was born to Juan Castrillo and Ageda Romero in Tularosa, NM.
On December 6, 1951, she married Nick Brusuelas in Tularosa. They had 5 children over the course of their 42 years of marriage: 4 sons, Nick Jr., Joe, David, Dan, and 1 daughter, Josie.
Nina attended Tularosa schools and later received her GED. She was active in St. Francis Catholic Church as a Guadalupana, Eucharistic Minister, Choir member, Sacred Heart, Adoration Coordinator, and Adorer.
Nina loved to crochet and sew in her early years and later on would love to go window shopping with her friend Maria Roeder. She would love watching Judge Judy episodes and would not miss out on a good enchilada. Nina spent the last 6 years living with her daughter in Roswell.
Nina is survived by her 4 sons, Nick Jr. (Patsy) of Hobbs, Joe (Yvette) of Odessa, David (Dominga) of Artesia, Dan (Kate) of Rio Rancho, and her daughter, Josie of Roswell. Nina was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Brusuelas Sr.; her granddaughter, Jodie Stark; her parents, Juan and Ageda Castrillo; her brothers, Manuel, Juan Jr., Benny, and Paul Castrillo.
Services for Adelina Brusuelas will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Viewing will be held from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am with Mass celebrated at 10:30 am.
Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers include, Josh Brusuelas, BJ Brusuelas, Juan Lucero, Chance Brill, Andy Sainz, Robert Sainz. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Brusuelas, Manuel Brusuelas, Jimmy Sainz, Ricky Gutierrez.
