Simon Isaac Guerrero was born to Andres and Romelia Guerrero on May 21, 1955, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was an obedient child who often stood up for his younger siblings at school. They were a close-knit family, and that helped with adjusting to new places as they moved to New Mexico, California, and finally Arizona during his years at home.
Simon loved tending to animals and gardening. He enjoyed being outdoors and living off the land. Simon was a Herdsman for most of his career and often had entrepreneurial ideas that kept his creative mind and hands active. He also enjoyed preparing and teaching Sunday school lessons for the small congregation he attended while he served as the Sunday School President.
Simon was a hard worker and willing to sacrifice his wants for the needs of others. He loved the Lord, his family, and his neighbors. He could often be found tinkering with his tools and growing his small farm and ranch.
After a lengthy battle with cancer and a stroke, Simon joined the Lord and family members who preceded him in death on March 27, 2026, in Alamogordo, NM.
Simon is survived by his wife, Maria; five children from his first marriage, Simon (Natalie), Cesar (Vipha), Sandra (Josh), Alma (Saul), and Claudia (Brandon); four siblings, Luis, Joel, Mario, and Ruth. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 9 siblings, and one grandchild.
The Guerrero family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
