Presiliana Lucero, age 101, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on February 13, 1924, in Tinnie, New Mexico, to Antonio Romero and Carolina Silvia.
Presiliana lived a truly wonderful 101 years, filling her life with joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments. She loved the simple pleasures that made her who she was, long days spent fishing, lively games of cards, dancing whenever the music moved her, and quiet moments with her word search puzzles. She delighted in telling riddles that made everyone smile, and she enjoyed the excitement of trips to the casino. But above all, she cherished gathering with family, where her presence brought warmth, love, and togetherness. Her life was rich with experiences and overflowing with heart, and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to shine through every story, every tradition, and every memory shared by those who loved her.
Presiliana is survived by her sister, Rachel Artiaga; daughters-in-law, Cecila Lucero and Beatrice Lucero; numerous grandchildren, including Danette Hopkin, Dodie Addington, Danny Lucero of La Luz, NM, Gilbert Lucero of Las Cruces, NM, Tony Lucero of La Luz, NM, Monica Montes of Alamogordo, NM, Saloman Lucero Jr. of Las Cruces, NM, Michael Garcia, Freddy Garcia, Richard Garcia of Alamogordo, NM, Jason Lucero of Tularosa, NM, Rudy Lucero Jr. of La Luz, NM, Sammy Garcia, Simon Garcia, Loreana Garcia of La Luz, NM, Issac Garcia of Artesia, NM, Benny "BJ" Sandoval Jr. of La Luz, NM. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense Joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Lucero; her parents, Antonio and Carolina Romero; her sons, Salomon Lucero, Rudy Lucero, Danny Lucero; her daughters, Amilia Garcia and Julia Garcia; her sisters, Ester Peiia, Leonarda Lopez, Delfina Cervantez; her brothers, Aristotel Romero, Paul Romero, Manual Romero, Juan Romero.
A Memorial Service for Presiliana Lucero will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Mountain View Church, 1300 Cuba Avenue in Alamogordo with Pastor Anthony Torres officiating.
A Reception will follow services.
