In Memory of Roberto Mota “Pekin” Ruiz

Roberto Mota “Pekin” Ruiz entered eternal rest on his 94th birthday, November 23, 2025, in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on November 23, 1931, in Marcia, New Mexico to Jesus and Consuelo (Mota) Ruiz. Robert retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a maintenance technician, and he proudly served three years in the Army National Guard.

Robert was dedicated to his family, a hardworking man, and an avid bingo player who loved watching professional wrestling.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hilda “Cippy” Ruiz; his four children, Robert E. Ruiz, Veronica Ball and her husband Al, Raul Ruiz and his wife Kelli, and Jesus Ruiz; thirteen grandchildren, Micheal Ruiz, Korienne Hendley, Sierra Ruiz, Janell Figgins, April Washington, Kyle Smith, Tiffany Ruiz, Anthony Ruiz, Robert J. Ruiz, Raul H. Ruiz, Rosa Ruiz, Jesus E. Ruiz II, and Carter Ruiz. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Ruiz; his mother, Consuelo Ruiz; seven siblings.

The family will greet relatives and friends at 9:30 am on Thursday, December 4, 2025, for the Viewing at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Avenue, Alamogordo, New Mexico. Funeral Services will follow with Rosary recited at 10:00 am and Mass celebrated at 10:30 am.

Burial will take place at Monte Vista Cemetery, 1590 East 1st Street, Alamogordo, New Mexico.

A reception will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church after the graveside services.
