On September 13, 2025, our world was forever changed when we lost our beloved son, Caleb Wyatte Lawhorn. He was born April 13, 2006, in Ruidoso, NM and was raised in both Alamogordo, NM and Abilene, TX. Caleb lived every moment to the fullest and left behind memories filled with laughter, adventure, kindness, strength, and so much love. Caleb had a passion for life that was unmatched. He loved working on cars, racing, fishing, working out, spending time with his family, and being outdoors. If he wasn’t tinkering under a hood, you could find him at the gym proudly showing off his muscles or out with his friends, always looking for the next adventure. He was always on the go, always smiling, and always reminding everyone to live life to the fullest. Caleb always looked out for those who couldn’t look out for themselves or just needed a friend.
Caleb was an extremely motivated young man. In 2023, at just 17 years old, after finishing homeschool, he received his HiSET and then began working on his Associate's in Automotive & Hybrid Technology, receiving three certifications at New Mexico State University Alamogordo. His first job was at Discount Tires where he excelled for two years, he briefly worked at the Commissary on Holloman Air Force Base and then moved on as a Technician’s Apprentice and Lube Tech at Casa Chevrolet, chasing his dream to be a mechanic.
Caleb is deeply loved by his family. He has countless friends and loved ones who will forever cherish the light he brought into their lives. Though his time here was brief, Caleb left an indelible mark on every heart he touched. His laughter, strength, and adventurous spirit will be remembered always.
Caleb leaves behind his loving parents, Jesse and Kimberly Lawhorn; his siblings, Cheyenne Denny, Julian Lawhorn, KayDee Lawhorn, and Tye Lawhorn; his grandparents, Phyllis Lawhorn, Steve and Esther Lawhorn, Jeannette Thompson, and Jerry and Linda Hughes. Caleb has been united with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, who embraces him as his good and faithful servant.
Services to honor and celebrate Caleb’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, September 22, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church. After laying Caleb to rest, a reception will be held at Bethel Baptist. All who knew and loved him are welcome to join us as we celebrate the beautiful and unforgettable life he lived. Caleb would want everyone to share their best memories and favorite stories.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Caleb’s legacy by donating to a bible study ministry, local church, or outreach program to continue his spirit of faith and service.
