Celebrating the Life of Ashtin James Hollis
On September 13, 2025, our world was forever changed when we lost our beloved Ashtin James Hollis. Born December 5, 2005, in Albuquerque, NM and raised in Alamogordo. Ashtin filled every space he entered with laughter, kindness, and love.
At just 19 years old, Ashtin had already accomplished so much. After graduating from Alamogordo High School in 2024, he began his studies in Surgical Technology at New Mexico State University, chasing big dreams for his future. Ashtin was known as a huge mamma's boy...his mother was his world. Ashtin was also a “jack of all trades” at Chili’s, where his coworkers admired not only his hard work, but also the joy he brought into their lives.
Ashtin loved adventure, whether it was fishing, go-karting, or simply being surrounded by his friends and family, he made sure to live each day as if it were his last. He truly embodied the saying, “live like you’re going to die tomorrow.”
Ashtin leaves behind his loving parents, Jasmine and Dustin Mesa, his father, Jeremiah Jackson; his siblings, Anastasia Martin, Kaye and Dillon Leyba, Hendrix Jackson, Micheal Mesa, Kaiden Crain; his grandparents, Mary Estrada, Kimmy Tryon, Wanell Mesa; his great grandparents, Lavi and Aaron Gaskins, Grandpa Charlie and Grandma Bobbie. He is reunited in heaven with his grandfather, Gary Tryon and his uncles, Justin Courtney and Jeremy Vick.
Services to honor and celebrate Ashtin’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 6:00 pm at Alamogordo Funeral Home followed by a reception at 1215 N Florida. All who knew and loved Ashtin are invited to join us as we celebrate the beautiful, adventurous, and unforgettable life he lived.
So don’t just come to cry, come ready to celebrate. Bring your best memories, your favorite stories, and maybe even a little mischief. That’s how Ashtin would’ve wanted it.
