In Loving Memory of Godfrey Alex Brusuelas

With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father and forever hero, Godfrey Alex Brusuelas, who entered eternal rest on August 13, 2025, at the age of 66 following a brief battle with cancer.

Born on November 3, 1958, in Tularosa, New Mexico to Santiago and Juanita Brusuelas, Godfrey graduated from Tularosa High School in 1976. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country for four years.

Known as a true jack of all trades, Godfrey spent many years working alongside his brothers at BLB Construction. He was known for his hard work, generous spirit, and unwavering willingness to help others. Above all, Godfrey cherished time with his family, whether sharing laughs with his siblings or relaxing at home with his grandchildren, those were the moments he loved most.

Godfrey was preceded in death by his father, Santiago Brusuelas and his companion, Annie Romero.

He is survived by his mother, Juanita Guerra Brusuelas; sisters, Kathy Tyler, Patsy Brusuelas, Lori (Larry Lopez); brothers, Willie (Dolly) Brusuelas, Gary (Debbie) Brusuelas, Dennis Brusuelas, Ernie Brusuelas, all of Tularosa, NM; daughter, Valarie Gandarilla (Miguel Ontiveros) of La Luz, NM; stepson, Joseph Romero (Vanessa La Paz) of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Maria Estrella, Miguel Timoteo, Enrique Miguel Ontiveros all of La Luz, NM; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Coco Beans.

Godfrey will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts and memories.

Funeral service details will be announced at a later date.

The Brusuelas family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
