Ramon Arellanes Estrada was born November 13, 1946, in Tepehuanes, Durango, Mexico. I don’t know much about his childhood because he never talked about it.
Ramon is preceded in death by his father, Bernardino Arellanes and his mother, Agustina Estrada; his brothers, Jose and Luis Arellanes; his son, Jose Arellanes; now he joins them to rest.
Those of us who are still here will surely miss him. Growing up, Ramon was a very stern and tough man, perhaps because he expected more of me than I believed I could do. But, he also had a soft side, not many people ever saw that side of him. He guarded it as though he had a steel armor on. Ramon was a hard worker, always believed in doing things right, and that is something he passed down to me. Do things right, and everything else will work out. He showed me that love isn’t always expressed in words but actions. When it mattered most, he always showed up. My dad was a kind and loving person in his own way. He had many faults, but also many virtues. Ramon leaves a big void in our hearts, but underneath it all, a hope and a promise that we will meet again.
Services for Ramon were held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Alamogordo Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at a later date at Monte Vista Cemetery.
The Arellanes Estrada family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the service.
