Gilbert Blasé Telles passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at age sixty, with his family by his side.
After graduating from Alamogordo High School, he proudly served in the United States Air Force.
He was active in the community and was well known at the local Farmers Market for the fruits and vegetables grown on the family farm. A great carpenter, Gilbert had once constructed a certified kitchen for his mother so she could also participate in the Farmers Market.
He had a passion for gardening and earned many awards for his produce at the Otero County Fair. He was known for his generosity and regularly volunteered his time with a variety of local, state and national organizations.
He adored his nieces and nephews and entertained them when they were younger by pulling them in a garden cart around the family farm. He loved animals and deeply cared for the family pets, including a cat named Taco and a dog named Max.
Gilbert is survived by his mother, Matilda Telles of Alamogordo; brothers, Ray Duran of Las Crices., Eugene Telles and Frederick Sean Telles of Alamogordo; sisters Rosalie Ortega-Gose of Las Cruces, Josephine Telles of Alamogordo and Christina Telles from Albuquerque, NM along with several nieces, nephews and close friends.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his father. Barney G. Telles.
Services will be held at the Alamogordo Funeral Home on Wednesday July 30, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.
