In Memory of Lupe Martinez (Martinez) Petty

Lupe Martinez (Martinez) Petty, beloved mother and Nana, left this life on July 11, 2025 to sing and dance with the Lord in the next. She loved Jesus and shared his love with everyone she met. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and loved ones. Never too busy to help others in need, she always had a smile on her face illuminating her loving kindness. Though her life here has ended, her spirit shines for all to see in our hearts. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Born Guadalupe Martinez on June 23, 1950 in Alamogordo, New Mexico, her parents were Pablo Martinez and Francisca Franco of Alamogordo, NM. Lupe Martinez Petty was a lifelong resident of Alamogordo, NM and graduated in 1968 from Alamogordo High School. She married her high school sweetheart Leroy Dave Petty on March 8, 1969 in Alamogordo New Mexico.

Mrs. Petty is survived by her children: Michael Petty and his wife, Stefanie Valenzuela- Petty of Alamogordo, New Mexico; Teresa Najar and her husband, Carlos Najar of Tucson, Arizona; Christina Duncan and her husband, Dwayne Duncan of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and Celina Jennings and her husband, Michael Jennings of La Luz, New Mexico; her siblings: Manuela Lechuga of Alamogordo, New Mexico; Mary Reitz and her husband, Steven Reitz of Graham, Washington; Mario Martinez and his wife, Linda Martinez of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and Maxine Riviera of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She had 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She also had an extended family which consists of numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
