Colleen Ardelle Sandenaw, age 92 was called to be with God on July 7, 2025. Colleen was born October 13, 1932, to Marion Andrews and Della Urban in Eldridge, North Dakota.
She grew up on a farm from the age of 8 in Jamestown, ND and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1950. After her graduation she worked in retail while attending college and worked also for American Airlines in Chicago. While in Chicago she was called to be a teacher in Montana. Colleen worked as a teacher in Montana before moving to and teaching in Albuquerque and Alamogordo, NM. After retiring from teaching, she returned to retail. Colleen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she participated in the alter guild, the choir, and LWML. She also served as the Secretary of the Church Board of Directors. In addition, she was a member of PEO and Community Concert. She was an avid reader and bridge player.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Walter & Neil Andrews, and brothers in-law Clyde Christy and Virgil Hilborn.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Sandenaw and her son Kevin Sandenaw both of Alamogordo, her son Dana Sandenaw of Las Cruces and her sisters Deloris Christy and Marian Hilborn both of North Dakota and Janice (Keith) of California. She is also survived by her granddaughter Antonia (Seth) Landau of Arizona and grandson Justin Sandenaw of Indiana, 5 great grandsons, and numerous nieces & nephews.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held Tuesday July 15th at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1505 College Ave, Alamogordo NM.
Direct Cremation has taken place under the care of PCS Direct Cremation Services.
