In Memory of Angie Quintana

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the departure of Angie Quintana who left us on June 4, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family. Angie was born on November 20, 1939, in Garita, New Mexico and was a resident of Alamogordo, New Mexico since 1979. Angie was the daughter of Agapito and Dorotea Vigil. She had 18 siblings, which included brothers, sisters, half-brother, and half-sisters.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents, Agapito and Dorotea Vigil; her husband, Merenciano Quintana; son, Ralph Quintana; brothers, Raymond Vigil, Rudy Vigil, and Steve Vigil.

Angie held various jobs throughout her life. She was a housekeeper at various hotels and homes. She waitressed and was the night manager for Real Burger and waitressed for Wendy’s. She was also an employee of the Levi Strauss company and a caregiver for the elderly. Angie was an accomplished seamstress who also enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching her novelas, canning preserves and vegetables, cooking, baking, and bead work. But what Angie enjoyed doing most of all, was caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored.

Angie is survived by her children, Patrick Vigil, Helen Salazar (Anthony Salazar), Agapita Quintana. Angie is also survived by seven grandchildren, Gina Vigil, Michael Vigil, Christopher Vigil (Anna), Trisha Mendiola (Allen), Andrew Vigil (Kristina), Valerie Franco (Matt), and Daniel Salazar (Jacqueline); as well as 13 great grandchildren, Desmond Vigil, Xavier Vigil, Paprika Vigil, Gabriel Vigil, Synthia Vigil, Josiah Vigil, Logan Vigil, Jase Vigil, Avery Vigil, Isaiah Vigil, Ayden Vigil, Xylia Vigil, and Evan Dutill.

To celebrate Angie‘s life, a private Christian ceremony limited to the immediate family will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Alamogordo, New Mexico on Friday, June 20, 2025. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am with Funeral Mass celebrated immediately following at 10:30 am. Interment will be held at a later date and location.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Angie‘s grand and great grandchildren.

The Quintana family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
