In Memory of Raymundo M. Maynez

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family of Raymundo M. Maynez announce his passing on April 26, 2025. At the age of 80, Raymundo departed this world peacefully after a courageous battle following a severe stroke. While the world has lost a truly beautiful soul, heaven has gained a beloved angel.

Born on July 1, 1944, in Torreón-Coahuila, Mexico, Raymundo was the cherished son of Raymundo Maynez Sr. and Maria (Medina) Maynez. He met the love of his life at the young age of 10 and later married his soul mate, Julieta (Gonzalez) Maynez, on July 25, 1964. Together and married for over 60 years, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion, raising three children who adored him deeply.

Raymundo is survived by his beloved wife, Julieta and their children, Alfredo Maynez and his wife Kimberly (Marquez) Maynez, Rachel Maynez, and Adrian Maynez, all of Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was a proud and loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Alfred Maynez Jr. and his wife Chelsea (Hicks) Maynez, Patrick Maynez, Angela Adams, Ashlie Norris, Matthew Maynez, and Sarena Maynez. He also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and laughter.

Raymundo is also survived by his siblings, brothers, Alex Maynez, Miguel Maynez, Mario Maynez (Estefana), Carlos Maynez (Yolanda), and Raul Maynez (Dulsec); sisters, Letty Silva (Mike) and Lupe Trevizo. His extended family includes many godchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, each of whom he loved deeply.

Raymundo was preceded in death by his loving parents, Raymundo and Maria Maynez; his daughter, Maria Maynez; brothers, Oscar Maynez, Hector Maynez, and Carlitos Maynez; sisters, Hortencia (Maynez) Coronado and Ernestina (Maynez) Moreno; and several beloved in-laws.

Well known throughout the community for his kind heart, unfiltered honesty, unwavering devotion to family, and unmistakable sense of humor, Raymundo touched many lives. His friendships were genuine and lasting, and he found great joy in the relationships he built over the years.

A dedicated family man, Raymundo found his greatest happiness in spending time with those he loved. Whether dancing, singing, playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, cooking with his beautiful wife, or watching football, especially his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, he created countless cherished memories. His contagious smile and unforgettable laugh brightened the lives of everyone around him.

Raymundo was never afraid to act silly to bring joy to others, and his willingness to help anyone in need left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Services for Raymundo will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Jude Parish Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 10:15 am with Mass celebrated at 11:00 am. Celebration of Life Reception will be held at 12:30 pm at St. Jude Parish Hall.

Raymundo will be forever missed and remembered with love, laughter, and honor.
