Melody was a devoted mother, loving wife, cherished daughter, sister, and friend. A gifted musician from the age of three, she became proficient on both the viola and violin, earning multiple junior championship awards and performing with the Hobbs Southwest Symphony since 1998. She served the Alamogordo Police Department for 16 years and was a certified CPR and Crisis Intervention Training instructor, helping train people across the state to save lives.

Melody’s life was full of love, service, and music. She cared deeply for those around her and never hesitated to help those in need. Her warmth, strength, and grace will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Buell and Dovie Lindley and Nina Minor; her brother, Charlie Henderson; her son, Christopher David Sparks; and her grandson, River Poindexter.
