Maria Luisa Estrada Sutton, age 88, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025. She leaves this life having many accomplishments and with much love.
Luisa was born in San Buena Ventura, Chihuahua, Mexico on July 7, 1936. Her deceased parents are Dr. Raymundo Estrada and Maria Antonia Andujo Estrada. Her beloved Grandfather was Jose Maria Andujo.
Luisa’s early childhood was full of much happiness and comfort. She was surrounded by a close family and dearly loved those childhood memories throughout her days. In addition to her parents, she had her younger sister, Esther Estrada Herrera, who is also now deceased. She always treasured her memories of her Grandfather, Jose Maria Andujo. Her stories of that time in her life will always be treasured to those of us that she left behind.
Luisa’s early adult career was in the banking industry in Chihuahua City. She enjoyed that time of her life but it was interrupted by the love of her life, Arthur Mitchell Sutton (now deceased) of Alamogordo, New Mexico. They married in Chihuahua City on September 3, 1962. The couple immediately made their home in the United States. Their son, Arthur Mitchell Sutton, Jr. , now deceased, was born on June 16th, 1963. Their daughter, Esther Yvette Sutton Hubbard, now deceased was born November 16th, 1964. Luisa basked in the success of her husband and her children. She was so very proud of all of them.
Luisa leaves behind many friends and family members. Her grandson, Nicholas Mitchell Hubbard lives in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Her treasured cousin is Concepcion (Conchita) Knox of El Paso, Texas. Her daughter-In-Law is Gretchen Sutton of Alamogordo. Her nieces are Tonya WilliamSon and her husband Rick of La Luz, and Cecilia Herrera of Chihuahua City, Mexico. Also, our family truly appreciates the help and support that her friends Nacho and Yolanda Regalado provided to her through the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Mitchell Sutton; her son, Arthur Mitchell Sutton, Jr.; her daughter, Esther Yvette Sutton Hubbard; her sister, Esther Estrada Herrera; her Sister-In-Law Ernie-Lee Sutton Miller and Brother-In-Law, Don Miller and her parents, Raymundo and Antonia Estrada and her grandparents, Jose Maria Andujo and Senora Andujo.
Thank you to everyone that has loved and appreciated Luisa. May you always have fond memories of her.
The family will greet friends from 9:00 am and pray the rosary at 10:00 am on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 705 Delaware Avenue, Alamogordo, New Mexico.
The Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 am Friday, May 16, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cornejo officiating.
Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery, 1590 E. 1st Street, Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Pallbearers include Rick WilliamSon, Nacho Regalado, Andy Blum, Ron Sanchez, Levi WilliamSon and Tim Carroll.
